Last month, the StemCell ARTS team attended the annual Interventional Orthopedics Foundation and Regenexx conference. The IOF annual conference focused on The Orthobiologic Singularity—a paradigm shift that will take orthopedic medicine from invasive to regenerative. The annual Regenexx conference brought together Regenexx Affiliates from around the globe, including Affiliate teams located in India, Taiwan, and Australia. This “meeting of the minds” provided a forum for the Regenexx Affiliates to learn more about what is to come with the Regenexx procedures. It also provided Regenexx Affiliates the opportunity to discuss and review best practices in each individual clinic.
The two day conference concluded with Regenexx handing out awards to the Affiliate teams. While a number of awards were given out to various clinics, StemCell ARTS took home, not only the most awards, but some of the most prestigious. StemCell ARTS won in the following categories:
- Most Thorough and Responsive Regenexx Patient Liaison
- Most Procedures Performed by a Group
- Most Procedures Performed by a Clinic (the big one!!)

At StemCell ARTS, we love to hear patients provide their experience following regenerative procedures with our practice. Mark, a patient under the care of Dr. Rodney Dade in the Tysons Corner, VA office, was an avid runner who had been sidelined with knee pain. Our StemCell ARTS team recently received amazing recognition from Judy, a patient under the care of Dr. Benjamin Newton in the Chevy Chase, MD office. Judy provides her experience after undergoing Platelet Rich Plasma and Platelet Lysate injections to treat her cervical spine.
I was seen in August for my 2nd PRP treatment. I am thrilled to say that I can really see and feel the difference since my last treatment. Initially it was crazy sore and quite miserable but after about 6 weeks I started to really improve. I was able to travel lugging my own suitcase and back pack throughout London, Paris and Scotland on /off trains /metros / etc. I was so surprised at how well my neck and back did throughout the whole time.
No muscle relaxers or Advil needed the entire trip . I wanted to send a big thank you to Dr. Newton as I have been struggling with pain for over 11 years since my accident.

“I have started taking walks and even joined a line dancing group thanks to your work. Every now and then I have pain to the point where I slow down and have to take it easy, at least for a day. Prolotherapy and Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment
Nick Caparelli’s story echoes most of those seeking treatment here at StemCell ARTS. He was very active, but injured himself during one of his physical activities and was recommended surgery by an Orthopedist. He considered his surgical options, but was concerned about the recovery and downtime it would include. A friend recommended he explore regenerative therapies for his shoulder. He was evaluated by a physician here at StemCell ARTS, and suggested a treatment plan of Prolotherapy and Platelet Rich Plasma. Prolotherapy is an injection of Dextrose-based solution into the problem area in order to help stimulate your body’s repair cells. Platelet Rich Plasma requires a blood draw, and after your platelets are concentrated and processed in our lab to the specificity of the doctors, it is re-injected to the site of injury in order to help heal minor sprains, strains and tears. Mr. Caparelli’s treatments were scheduled four to six weeks apart, and after just a few treatments, he is back to lifting weights and teaching martial arts!
