Denise Lawson experienced two motor vehicle accidents in 2001 that left her with neck pain, headaches, and sporadic episodes of weakness on the left side of her body. Over time, Denise developed degenerative disc disease in her cervical spine.
In 2005, she started experiencing increased nerve pain and weakness on the left side of her body. She explains, “I was in so much pain that I had difficulty performing routine daily activities like laundry, making a bed, or even getting dressed.” Doctors weren’t sure if the pain was due to instability in her neck, or another neurological issue. Surgery was recommended, but Denise decided to pursue alternative treatments for pain relief. She tried almost every alternative treatment possible including chiropractic treatments, physical therapy, acupuncture, steroid injections all with minimal relief.
Unable to achieve long term relief from her pain, Denise “gave up and learned to live with the pain.” She sought out chiropractic treatment when a severe pain developed in her shoulder. The pain would not subside. It was at this visit with the chiropractor that Denise was introduced to the idea of Regenerative therapies. At that point, the pain was so severe that she could not lift her left arm above her head. Denise decided to pursue a consultation for Regenerative therapy.
Following a comprehensive initial evaluation, Denise and her physician decided to proceed with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to the cervical spine (neck) and left shoulder. Denise was confident with the treatment plan, stating, “My condition was complex and the physician took the time to figure out the problem and the best approach to fixing it. They made me feel like they really wanted me to get better.” The PRP injections progressed into Stem Cell treatment for her left shoulder.
A few months following the Stem Cell procedures, Denise was so pleased with the results she achieved in her neck and shoulder that she decided to pursue Regenerative therapy, again, when she began to experience pain in her knee. Denise and the physician decided on a course of PRP for her knee. The results of Regenerative therapy to treat her conditions have significantly reduced Denise’s pain. Denise explains, “Now I am able to do so many things that I thought I would never be able to do again. I was able to ski for the first time in more than five years. I feel like I have gotten my life back!”
Not just pleased with the results of her procedures, Denise has enjoyed being a patient with the StemCell ARTS practice. “This is the best doctor I have ever had! He takes the time to explain things and works with you to make adjustments throughout the treatment to make sure you are getting the individual care and treatment you need. I love being a patient there!”
