StemCell ARTS offers the nation's most advanced platelet procedures for back, neck, spine and disc conditions

Platelet Lysate, PRP and Prolotherapy for Bulging or Herniated Disc and Other Common Back and Neck Injuries and Conditions

Platelet Lysate is a blood platelet procedure for non-surgical treatment of bulging disc and herniated disc related problems. This regenerative procedure is an excellent alternative to epidural steroid injections for many patients and may help individuals avoid back surgery. As a minimally invasive treatment, Platelet Lysate patients benefit from a very short recovery period. This treatment is frequently used to provide relief from lower back conditions that may cause back pain, numbness or tingling in the legs or feet, or buttock and leg pain.

Regenexx Patient Outcome Data for Spine

  • PL-Disc vs. Steroid Epidural Outcome Data

This data compares two groups of patients who received epidural steroids vs. PL-Disc and looks at their results at 3 month and 6 month intervals using a Functional Rating Index (FRI), which measures things like pain as well as the ability to walk, sit, lift, bend, etc.

  • Stem Cell Procedure Safety

Regenexx has published more data on stem cell safety in peer reviewed medical research for orthopedic applications than any other group world-wide. This is a report of 1,591 patients and 1,949 procedures treated with the Regenexx Stem Cell Procedure. Based on our analysis of this treatment registry data, the Regenexx Stem Cell Procedure is about as safe as any typical injection procedure, which is consistent with what we see every day in the clinic.

The Source of Back Pain

backpain-imageStatistics show that most of us will experience some sort of back pain during our lives. With a very broad range of causes, back pain may originate from an acute injury to the spine, such as a sports-related injury or auto accident, or something less obvious, like poor posture. Most often, the pain we experience is simply caused by a lifetime of wear and tear on the spine, or a small injury that has worsened throughout the years.

Back Pain is also becoming prevalent in younger groups, as more sedentary lifestyles become the norm. At a young age, lifestyle changes that involve more activity and exercise may help make the difference and return these individuals to healthier path. Improved posture, core strength, flexibility and a healthy lifestyle can often prolong the onset of aging effects that show up in our spine.

Injection treatments for degenerative conditions and bulging disks have become a common way to alleviate pain when back surgery is not required. While steroids have been shown to be effective for treating back pain, some individuals may prefer to avoid steroid injections and for some, a steroid injection may not be an option.

StemCell ARTS offers this new Platelet Lysate option, also known as Regenexx PL-Disc, which uses your own blood platelets and growth factors to treat many of the same conditions that are commonly treated with epidural steroid injections.

If you’re experiencing back pain and looking for a non-surgical solution to help alleviate pain, contact StemCell ARTS to learn more about this procedure and find out if you’re a candidate.

We are an affiliate of National Spine and Pain Centers and can offer the entire spectrum of treatments for spine conditions, including surgery for more severe back conditions if Platelet Lysate is not an appropriate option for you.
