Dr. Benjamin Newton is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine, interventional orthopedic physician. He has extensive experience evaluating and treating orthopedic sports injuries and musculoskeletal complaints of the spine and extremities. He utilizes regenerative therapies to help patients of all ages get back to an active lifestyle. Dr. Newton focuses on regenerative therapies such as prolotherapy, platelet rich plasma and/or autologous stem cells to help his patients get back to what they’d like to be doing.

Dr. Newton enjoys figuring out what is “broken or worn out” and working with patients to develop a treatment plan to reduce their pain and increase their activity levels. Once the diagnosis has been identified, he believes precision and accuracy are required to give the greatest chance of healing. Understanding that additional training and certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound, fluoroscopy and image interpretation are paramount to procedure success, Dr. Newton holds additional certifications in ultrasound image guidance.

Dr. Newton completed his residency in Burlington, Vermont. Following his residency, he finished a sports medicine fellowship in Cincinnati, Ohio and a second fellowship in interventional orthopedics and regenerative medicine in Broomfield, Colorado. While participating in his fellowships, Dr. Newton spent time with professional athletes, college athletes, weekend warriors, amateurs and pee-wee leaguers in a diagnostic and treatment setting. These opportunities provided Dr. Newton with a myriad of experience helping various patient populations get back to their desired activities.

Dr. Newton enjoys giving back through teaching opportunities, both nationally and internationally, through the American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine, the Interventional Orthopedics Foundation and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He is also a diplomat of the American Academy of Family Practice.

Dr. Newton continues to enjoy practicing musculoskeletal, regenerative medicine and interventional orthopedics. With his free time, he spends time with his wife and kids, preferably outdoors. He likes to challenge himself with endurance races and has completed numerous Ironman triathlons.

Dr. Newton is conversationally fluent in Spanish.
